Consystence is in public beta

The platform is public as of today: a free sandbox for individual accounts, Integrator and Enterprise tiers, and the site server and csy CLI publishing with our first release. No waitlist — and we are at QME, Stand C820, all week.

Today we opened the doors. Consystence — the platform we have been building out of 20+ years of production control code — is in public beta. No waitlist, no invite gate: the site is public, the tiers are published, and this week of all weeks we are standing on a trade-show floor in Mackay to show it running.

What Consystence is

One platform from the PLC to the cloud, built around three legs. Build: author equipment from a typed standard library — device types that carry their tags, alarms, commands, faceplates and simulation profiles in one definition, distilled from 112 UDTs and 57 AOIs of production control code. Simulate: prove the logic in closed-loop simulation that behaves like the real PLC, before it touches the field. Operate: server-rendered control screens assembled in real time from live plant state, streamed to the browser over SignalR — with an advisory AI that explains what the PLC is doing and never controls it.

The standard library ships 22 typed device types across 3 libraries — pumps and drives, materials handling, IO and controllers — browsable in full.

What opens today

  • A free sandbox for individual accounts. Sign in with a Consystence account and you get a personal sandbox tenant: author device types, assemble screens, and run closed-loop simulation on the native sim runtime — no card, no licence key. Access & pricing has the details.
  • Integrator and Enterprise tiers. Organisations, members, multiple sites, and the full PLC → edge → site → cloud chain. Integrator is approval-gated by design; every tier carries a metered advisory-AI allowance, with Enterprise taking the largest allowance plus the deployment controls large operators require. There is no published price list — production pricing is scoped per engagement.
  • The site server and csy CLI. The download page is live, and the installers — Windows MSI, Linux packages, a container image, and the single-file csy client — publish there with our first public release. Every release ships a SHA256SUMS manifest and a detached minisign signature, so an air-gapped site can verify exactly what it is running.

What “beta” means here

We use the word deliberately, and we will not soften it. The full PLC → edge → site → cloud chain runs end to end — first proven on our dam-pump-station proving ground with closed-loop simulation standing in for the plant, and running today on our workshop rig, where the platform reads a real ControlLogix PLC and runs a generated control program on a virtual PLCnext — but the field record is still being written. The cloud runs in one region, Azure Australia East, which is where your platform data stays. And some of what we talk about is labelled roadmap on this site because it is roadmap: the native renderer, on-device time-series ML, the device-type marketplace, and the next library verticals — water utilities, gas, data centres. When something is bench-proven rather than field-proven, we say so.

Beta also draws one line we want to be explicit about: it is not intended for production control of live plant. Stand it up alongside your existing SCADA, author and simulate, run supervised commissioning trials — and keep production control where it is until we take the label off. The terms say the same thing in plainer legal language.

One line does not move, beta or not: the AI is advisory. It reads tags, alarms and history, explains anomalies, and can propose a command — but nothing executes without explicit operator confirmation, and hard interlocks stay in IO modules and safety relays, where they belong.
